As the lightest racquet in the Speed line, the Speed Lite offers excellent maneuverability and easy access to spin. In the shaft, the Speed Lite features d3o a "smart material" that reacts to your shot. On hard hit balls, the d3o molecules lock together to create a stiffer frame for more power. On slice shots or drop shots, the molecules absorb the impact to provide better touch. Weighing less than 10 ounces strung, our TW testers found it easy to create faster swing speeds, resulting in good pop on their groundstrokes. This ease of maneuverability resulted in easy access to spin from all areas of the court. Moving forward, the Speed Lite offered good control on approach shots and nice touch up at the net. The 102 square inch head size offers a generous sweetspot with a consistent response throughout the stringbed. The low static weight of the Speed Lite also leaves plenty of room for customization for bigger hitting players. All in all, this comfortable 'tweener racquet is a must demo for players at the 3.5+ level.
